Andhra Pradesh and South Central Railway footballer Manoj passes away at 53

South Central Railway footballer Manoj passed away at the age of 53. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Manoj had also represented the undivided state of Andhra Pradesh in the Junior Nationals in 1989 in Shillong. He also played for the state in the Under-21 Nationals.

The Telangana Football Association (TFA) expressed deep regret on the untimely death of Manoj. In this time of profound loss, the Telangana Football Association held a condolence meeting on Sunday evening to mourn the death of Manoj. It was attended by all the TFA office-bearers, referees, coaches and senior players.

Victor mourns Manoj’s death

“Deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Manoj,” said former India captain Victor Amalraj.

“He will always be remembered for his contribution to football and for the wonderful memories he shared with teammates, friends and the football fraternity. May Almighty give strength and courage to his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” he added.
