Telangana’s Aheel Mohammad and Tamil Nadu’s Kanishka Govind reigned supreme at the National Series Under-14 boys and girls 2026 conducted by the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy in Hyderabad.
Aheel Mohammad defeated Kabir Gundecha of Maharashtra to win the Under-14 boys singles title in straight sets at 7-6 (3), 6-2. Aheel and Kabir dished out an exhilarating show in the first set with both players neck-and-neck. With the scores tied at 6-6, the tie-breaker was used and Aheel managed to pull off a 7-6 (3) win to claim the first set.

A demoralized Kabir threw in the towel as Aheel cruised to a 6-2 win in the second set to bag the title.
The doubles title was clinched by S Nihal Reddy of Karnataka and Neev Sheth of Maharashtra. The duo eased past Arjun Dua and Viraj Jarwal of Delhi 6-1, 6-2.
Heartbreak for Aneeksha, joy for Kanishka
In the girls’ category, there was a double heart break for Telangana girl Aneeksha Gavinolla.

Aneeksha lost the singles final to Kanishka Govind of Tamil Nadu in straight sets. Kanishka was in a punishing mood in the first set as she blanked her rival 6-0. In the second, Aneesha found her groove, but it was too late as Kanishka won the key points to record a 6-4 win and take home the trophy.

Aneeksha had further disappointment in the doubles. Kanishka and Trisha Bhosale defeated Saraf Priyal of Karnataka and Aneeksha in a thrilling three-set contest.

Trisha and Kanishka took the first set quite comfortably at 6-2 but Aneeksha and Saraf pulled up their socks in the second one. The duo turned the tables and levelled the tie with a 6-3 win.
In the decider, Kanishka and Trisha held their nerves to pull off a 10-7 win and claim the title. In the process, Kanishka made it a grand double in Hyderabad.
