Top shuttler PV Sindhu had a disappointing outing at home in the India Open last week. However, after suffering a first-round exit in New Delhi, the shuttler will be looking to bounce back when she leads India’s challenge at the Indonesia Masters, which starts on Tuesday.

A two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu will be eying a deep run at the Indonesia Masters after stumbling at the first hurdle. Sindhu had reached the semifinals of the season-opening Malaysia Open earlier this month and will face lower-ranked Manami Suizu of Japan in the first round.

Sindhu will be accompanied by Malvika Bansod, Tanvi Sharma and Unnati Hooda in the women’s singles main draw. Olympic gold medallist Chen Yufei of the People’s Republic of China is also a part of the women’s singles draw and will face Unnati Hooda in the first round.

Lakshya Sen, who is the top men’s singles player of the country and is ranked World No. 14, will be looking to carry forward the positives from his quarterfinal run at the India Open. Former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth is also in the men’s singles draw along with compatriots HS Prannoy, Tharun Mannepalli and Ayush Shetty.

Paris 2024 silver medallist Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand is the top seed in the men’s singles draw.

Doubles duo Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun are the only Indians in the men’s main draw, while Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto and Rohan Kapoor/Ruthvika Shivani Gadde feature in the mixed doubles section.

Two-time Olympic bronze medallists Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are the top seeds in the men’s doubles.

Meanwhile, Rashmi Ganesh and Sania Sikkandar – India’s only pair in the women’s doubles at Indonesia – will begin their campaign in the qualification round.
