Ranga Reddy Risers opener Aaron George has hailed Hyderabad Cricket Association’s (HCA) TG20 as a significant opportunity for aspiring cricketers, saying the tournament is helping players showcase their talent and take the next step in their careers.
Speaking after the Risers secured their second consecutive victory of the season, George praised the Hyderabad Cricket Association for launching the competition and creating a pathway for players to gain valuable exposure.

“The TG20 is a fantastic platform for players across age groups to showcase their talent and push for the next level. I’m grateful to the Hyderabad Cricket Association for creating this opportunity and giving young cricketers a stage to prove themselves,” said George.
The young opener attributed the team’s unbeaten start to extensive preparation and the confidence built within the squad ahead of the tournament. With two wins from two matches, the Risers have emerged as one of the early pace-setters in the competition.
“A lot of our confidence comes from the preparation we’ve put in before the tournament. Winning games certainly helps, but I think the belief within the group was there even before the first ball was bowled. We’ve prepared well and that’s reflecting in our performances so far,” he said.
The Under-19 World Cup winner in 2026 has played an important role at the top of the order, providing aggressive starts in both matches. While pleased with his contributions, the opener admitted that he is aiming to convert those promising starts into bigger innings as the tournament progresses.
Enjoy opening with Avanish: Aaron
He also highlighted his partnership with fellow opener Avanish Rao, noting that their shared experiences in age-group cricket have helped build a strong understanding at the crease. “We have a lot of things in common. We’ve both played age-group cricket at the highest level and share those experiences with each other. We have a good relationship off the field and we’ve opened together before as well. Nothing has really changed and I’m really enjoying opening with him,” said George.
Reflecting on his personal goals for the tournament, George said his focus remains on maintaining the quality of his decision-making rather than chasing statistical milestones.
“My focus isn’t on numbers as much as it is on making quality decisions at the crease and maintaining a high standard of batting. If the decision-making is right, the runs will follow,” he added.
