The Indian football League (formerly known as I-League 3) will commence on April 10, 2026. Hence, Citadel Godavari Legends (CGL) Football Club, which qualified for the Indian Football League by winning the AP Super Cup, will be conducting a free and open football selection trials for the senior team. The is for the first time that the CGL is conducting a trial to select talented footballers to play for their team in the upcoming Indian Football League.

The selection trials will be held at Gymkhana Football Ground in Secunderabad on March 21 and 22. Interested players should report at 7.30 am at the venue for the session which will be held from 8 am to 11 am on both days. AIFF has said that the Indian Football League will have a group stage competition which will be conducted in a centralised single round format for which the participating teams will be divided into four groups and each team will play every other team in their respective group once.

The top team from each group, along with the two best second-placed teams across all groups, will qualify for the centralised play-off stage. The play-offs will be conducted in a single round centralised format. The top two teams at the end of the play-off stage, on the basis of sporting merit, will earn promotion to the I-League 2 for the 2026–27 season, says a release issued by Prudhvi Kolaventy, co-owner and sporting director, Citadel Godavari Legends FC.
