Kiran, Kushal, Abdullah, Aqdaam, Hishanth shine in HCA U-19 Inter-district tournament

Adi Mani Kiran scored a century, but his knock was in vain as Nalgonda went down to Medak by two wickets in the HCA’s Under-19 Inter-District One-day Tournament.

Kiran made 108 off 115 balls with 10 fours and three sixes as Nalgonda scored 216 in 46 overs. Md Rehman took four for 30 and Akshay Kumar and B Hishanth grabbed three wickets apiece.

In reply, Medak went on to score 218 for eight in 45.1 overs with B Hishanth making a topscore of 53.

Two centuries but it was Gudimalla Kushal’s knock that mattered at the end as Khammam scripted a two-wicket win over Mahbubnagar.

Batting first, Mahbubnagar made 201 for eight in 45 overs with Abdul Rafeay Abdullah scoring a 144-ball 102 with 16 fours. In reply, Khammam made 205 for eight in 39.5 overs as Kushal scored a 86-ball 113 with 21 hits to the fence.

In a low-scoring match, Syed Ahmed Aqdaam took five for 24 to bowl Karimnagar to a 15-run win over Warangal.

Brief scores: Nalgonda 216 in 46 overs (Adi Mani Kiran 108, D Vishnu 31, Akshay Kumar 3/36, B Hishanth 3/37, Md Rehman 4/30) lost to Medak 218/8 in 45.1 overs (K Vignesh 31, B Hishanth 53, Jashwanth K 3/31).

Mahbubnagar 201/8 in 45 overs (Abdul Rafeay Abdullah 102, T Lakshmi Dharan 3/30) lost to Khammam 205/8 in 39.5 overs (Gudimalla Kushal 113, G Jaswanth 3/30).

Karimnagar 138 in 38 overs (B Vitesh 4/22, M Pujith 4/12) beat Warangal 123 in 26.5 overs (M Ramcharan 38, G Prem Sai 3/15, Syed Ahmed Aqdaam 5/24).

Nizamabad 151 in 34.3 overs (Abhinav 31, Revanth Kumar 68, Saif Bin Sohail 3/34) lost to Adilabad 153/6 in 30.2 overs (Darsh 43, Pawar Rahul 51no, V Naveen Kumar 3/42).

Imperial and Sportive enter semifinals

Imperial scored a 92-run win over Telangana to reach the semifinals of the HCA B Division (2-day) League Championship in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Sportive too walked into the semifinals with a 194-run win over Khalsa.

Replying to Imperial’s imposing 354 for nine, Telangana fought well but fell short of the target. They were bowled out for 262. C Nikhil Yadav topscored with 78.

In the other quarterfinal, Khalsa, replying to Sportive’s 335, were bowled out for 141 with G Ritvik taking four for 37. Karan Pattanayak (52) and MA Malik (51) struck half-centuries.

Brief scores: Imperial 354/9 in 90 overs beat Telangana 262 in 76.2 overs (Sayed Izharuddin 39, C Nikhil Yadav 78, Kavya Jain 40).

Sportive 335 in 89.3 overs beat Khalsa 141/9 in 42.3 overs (Karan Pattanayak 52, MA Malik 51, G Ritvik 4/37).
