Hockey Jharkhand (Pool A), Hockey Haryana (Pool B) topped their respective groups with Division A opening-day pool wins respectively, meanwhile Pool C had a tie for points with Uttar Pradesh Hockey and Manipur Hockey playing out a 1-1 draw in the 16th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2026 at the Maj Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, Pune, on Sunday.
Mizoram, Karnataka stay unbeaten to top their pools, Andhra Pradesh go down to Assam 1-2
On the first day on Sunday in Division A matches, Pool A had Hockey Jharkhand down Hockey Chandigarh 6-0. Goals by Pushpa Dang (20’, 44’), Horo Esther (39’), Mundri Saroj (40’), Jamuna Kumari (51’) and Sangita Kumari (54’) accounted for the winners. Hockey Chandigarh failed to score.

In Pool B, Hockey Haryana whitewashed Hockey Bengal 10-1 the highest so-far in the championship. Six scorers accounted for the win, a brace by Kaur Sukhpreet (2’, 21’), three-goals by Anjani (6’, 49’, 57’), a double by Khasa Shashi (14’, 47’), and a goal each by Bhavya (29’), Khushi (29’) and Diksha (52’). Hockey Bengal scored via Jadia Salmi (17’).
In Pool C, Uttar Pradesh Hockey and Manipur Hockey played to a 1-1 draw. Uttar Pradesh Hockey netted through Patel Vandana (20’) which was later levelled by Manipur Hockey’s (Hudrom Bidyaluxmi Devi 20’).

Earlier, on Sunday, in Division B, Pool B Hockey Delhi got past Assam Hockey 6-0. A goal each by Nisha (2’), Bindia Kerketta (28’), Rana Nishu (30’), Dipika (43’), Tanisha Ekka (47’), Lakra Namrata (59’) helped Hockey Delhi.
In Pool B, Hockey Uttarakhand had it easy against the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu winning 3-1. Aarti (9’), Upadhyay Kashish (11’), Mukta (19’) scored for Hockey Uttarakhand. The Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu had Priyadharshini K (35’) pull one back.
On Saturday, in Division B, Pool B Hockey Bihar downed Goan Hockey 6-0. Two goals by Sidhi Kumari (23’, 37’), three by Khushi Kumari (27’, 37’, 43’) and one by Kumari Anjali (46’) accounted for the scoreline.
In Division B, Pool B Hockey Uttarakhand (7 pts; 4 matches) are in second place, behind Hockey Karnataka (9 pts; 3 matches) and Hockey Bihar (4 pts; 3 matches). Hockey Tamil Nadu (3 Pts; 3 matches) are fourth place.
Likewise, Hockey Bihar moved into second place (4 pts), behind Hockey Karnataka (9 pts), with their first win, while Goans Hockey suffered their third loss.
Delhi beat Assam 6-0
In Division B Pool ‘B Hockey Delhi’s (3 pts; 3 matches), first win, helped them a fourth place behind Kerala Hockey, while Assam Hockey (6 pts; 4 matches) exist by playing all their matches.
The tournament is being hosted by Hockey Maharashtra under the aegis of Hockey India with matches played out in two Divisions ‘A’ and ‘B’ respectively.
The championship is being hosted in association with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. State Bank of India is the presenting sponsor, with Union Bank of India as the powering partner. Emcure Pharmaceuticals is the official partner, Bisleri is the hydration partner, while Aswani Associates and Suhana Masala are the support partners.
