Eighteen teams will fight it out for the top honours at the Sub-Junior (Under-13 years) & Youth (Under-16 years) League 2026 for boys & girls which will be held at the YMCA Secunderabad from Monday (July 20, 2026).
The league is being conducted by The Hyderabad District Basketball Association, and all arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the league. The matches will be played from 6 pm onwards on Monday.
HDBA to conduct League-cum-Selection Trails for Youth and Sub-junior hoopsters
Vibrant kits have been designed for this league, and the kit distribution ceremony was held on Saturday. Ravula Sridhar Reddy, president, Telangana Basketball Association and The Hyderabad District Basketball Association, distributed the KITS to the 18 teams.
A coaching camp was conducted by The Hyderabad District Basketball Association in which around 350 players participated. Out of those players, 18 teams were selected in various categories (Youth Boys: 6 teams; Youth Girls: 4 teams; Sub-Junior Boys: 4 teams and Sub-Junior girls: 4 Teams).

The team names have been assigned on historical places of Hyderabad District viz., Charminar Chargers, Golconda Gladiators, Birla Blazers, Secunderabad Stallions; Keesara Kings & Tank Bund Titans.
The matches will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. A unique feature of this league is that each and every player has to play in 1st & 2nd quarter, thereafter in the 3rd & 4th quarters, the coach has the choice to play their best players. This feature gives an opportunity to all the players in the squad to exhibit their skills.
