FC Mastergrade scored the biggest win of the day by beating Conscient Sports Gold 11-4 in the Under-14 category as the junior edition of the One Football Championship Hyderabad 2026 kicked off in remarkable fashion at the Sportek Arena in Gandipet, Hyderabad, on Sunday.

In other matches in the Under-14 category, Petra Sports Academy thumped Conscient Sports White 9-2, while Ziel Academy defeated BBFS 6-0. Conscient Sports White, however, defeated BBFS 6-0 in a later match.

In the Under-12 category, Petra Sports Academy thrashed Sporthood 14-2, while BBFS scored a 7-0 win over Sporthood.

In the Under-10 category, Conscient Sports scored a resounding 9-2 win over Total Football Academy, while Eden Academy posted a 7-1 victory over Petra Sports Academy.

Carnival atmosphere at the opening ceremony

The atmosphere at Sportek Arena was nothing short of a carnival. Packed with parents, coaches, and supporters cheering from the sidelines, the energy on and off the pitch made it a day to remember for everyone present. At the end of the matchday, standout performers were recognised with the Player of the Match awards across all three categories, a moment that had the young athletes beaming with pride.

One Football Championship with Shabbir Ali

The highlight of the day, however, came off the pitch. During the break, OneFC hosted a grand trophy unveiling ceremony, where the tournament trophy was revealed to the competing teams for the very first time. Adding to the occasion was the OneFC Sportsman Pledge, taken collectively by players, coaches, and officials, a moment that set the tone for the spirit of competition this league stands for.

Shabbir Ali graces opening ceremony

The ceremony was graced by the legendary Shabbir Ali, Hyderabad’s own footballing icon, captain of the Indian national team, and the first footballer in the country to be conferred the prestigious Dhyan Chand Award. His presence was nothing short of inspiring for the young players on display, a living reminder of what the beautiful game can achieve.

The tournament is being organised by D5 Sports Management in association with Petra Sports Academy and is recognised by the Telangana Football Association, OneFC is a grassroots youth football initiative with a vision to build structured competitive football for young players across cities. Hyderabad marks the newest chapter in that journey.

The tournament saw nine academies (20 teams) take to the field across three age categories, Under-10, Under-12 and Under-14, in what was an electric start to a five-week league. With four weeks of league stage football followed by a knockout final week, every point from Matchday 1 carries real weight.

As OneFC continues its mission of nurturing young footballing talent, Matchday 1 has set the stage for what promises to be a thrilling few weeks of football in Hyderabad.

Under-12: Petra Sports Academy beat Sporthood 14-2 (POTM: MR Dhruti); BBFS beat Sporthood 7-0 (POTM: Ram RT); Petra Sports Academy beat BBFS 6-0 (POTM: Agastya Reddy); Petra Sports Academy beat Sporthood 6-0 (POTM: Yatin); BBFS beat Sporthood 7-0 (POTM: Arjun Chandra).
