Chief minister A Revanth Reddy continues to pitch for the transformation of the state into a sports hub. Reddy stated that the collective goal must be to transform Telangana into a global sports hub.

A meeting of the Sports Hub Board, which was presided over by the chief minister, was held at Leela Hotel in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on Sunday. Those who attended the meeting were board members Konidela Upasana, Kavya Maran, Sanjiv Goenka, C Shashidhar and Jayesh Ranjan (special chief secretary, sports department), Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) MD Sonibala Devi and other officials.

The chief minister held discussions with board members regarding the master plan for the development of the Gachibowli Stadium. Reddy suggested developing the Gachibowli Stadium into an integrated sports complex, ensuring that Hyderabad becomes a premier destination for international sporting events.

“My objective is to transform the Gachibowli Stadium into one of the world’s premier sports venues. We must position Hyderabad as a national role model in the field of sports,” Reddy stated.

He emphasized that the Gachibowli Stadium should be equipped with state-of-the-art, world-class infrastructure for both indoor and outdoor sports, as well as for training purposes. He directed that athletics and football stadiums be constructed in accordance with international standards.

Sports Hub meet

Sports Hub Board meeting was held in Hyderabad on Sunday. Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy with board members Konidela Upasana, Kavya Maran, Sanjiv Goenka and C Shashidhar. Jayesh Ranjan (special chief secretary, sports department), Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) MD Sonibala Devi and other officials also attended the meeting

Furthermore, he suggested establishing training centers capable of providing coaching for a wide variety of sports disciplines. The CM presented and explained the master plan regarding these initiatives to the board members.

Reddy calls for CSR funds to develop stadium

Reddy appealed to the business community to come forward and contribute through CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds to develop the Gachibowli Stadium into a magnificent facility. He urged them to extend their cooperation in transforming the state into a benchmark model for the entire country.

The CM assured that the government is prepared to offer opportunities for branding and promotion to those who invest in the stadium’s development, should they require it. He reiterated the vision of establishing Hyderabad as a role model for the nation in the realm of sports.

Gachibowli Stadium to have a helipad

He said that an action plan regarding this initiative should be prepared by June 2. He stated that world-class amenities, including a helipad, must be established at the Gachibowli Stadium. He emphasized that arrangements should be made to enable athletes to travel directly from the airport to the stadium.

“The Gachibowli Stadium must be equipped with all world-class amenities, including a helipad. Arrangements should be made to enable athletes to travel directly from the airport to the stadium via helicopter,” he said.

Reddy stated that a comprehensive plan would be formulated in advance to ensure that the stadium faces no financial constraints regarding its maintenance in the future. “We will formulate a plan to ensure that the Gachibowli Stadium faces no financial constraints in the future,” the Telangana CM said.

Foundation stone for stadium development on June 2

Chief minister Revanth Reddy announced that an architect has already been appointed for the development of the Gachibowli Stadium, and that the Board has been granted complete autonomy regarding the stadium’s development. He reiterated that the government is working with the long-term objective of fostering sports development within Telangana.

“We have already appointed an architect for this project. I am granting the Board complete autonomy regarding the development of the stadium. Our long-term goal is the comprehensive development of sports across Telangana,” Reddy said.

“We will lay the foundation stone for the Gachibowli Stadium development project on June 2. An action plan for this initiative must be prepared before that date,” the CM said.
