Aditya, Ram hit centuries but Hyderabad lose to Haryana by nine wickets

Aditya Vardhan and Ram Charan struck centuries but that was not enough to prevent Hyderabad from crashing to a nine-wicket loss to Haryana in the BCCI’s Vijay Merchant Trophy at Mulapadu near Vijayawada on Saturday.

Hyderabad, who were bowled out for 97 in their first innings, had put up a remarkable fight in the second one. They went on to make 341 with Aditya getting 127 off 234 balls with 19 fours. He was ably supported by Ram Charan who scored 104 off 155 balls with 18 fours and a six.

Aadarsh Malik, who had bagged five for 37 in Hyderabad’s first innings, was again among the wickets. He took four for 51 to end up with match figures of nine for 88.

Haryana pocked full points from the game as they replied with 54 for one.

Brief scores: Hyderabad 97 & 341 in 96.2 overs (Aditya Vardhan 127, Ram Charan 104; Aadarsh Malik 4/51, Piyush Dudy 3/71) lost to Haryana 338 & 54/1 in 12.2 overs.

Women’s U-15 selection matches: Team E 112/4 in 28 overs (P Tanisha 51) lost to Team A 113/8 in 18.5 overs (Keerthana Pappu 34). Team B 133/3 in 30 overs (Kundhana 50) lost to Team D 134/2 in 24 overs (P Shanvi 40, Sahitya 51).
