Andhra Pradesh down Telangana in final of the 34th Federation Cup throwball meet

Hosts Andhra Pradesh women clinched the title at the 34th Federation Cup Throwball Championship 2026 held at Sri Vatsala Gurukul Vidyalaya in Tirupati on Sunday.

In the final, Andhra Pradesh scored a 15-9, 15-13 win to clinch the gold medal. Telangana women had to be content with the silver medal.

In the semifinals, Telangana had defeated Karnataka 15-13, 15-12.

In the league stage, Telangana had begun by defeating Delhi 15-4, 15-13. They then defeated 15-10, 15-4 and took down Tamil Nadu 15-11, 15-12. In the final league match, Telangana women had lost to West Bengal 15-11, 14-16, 13-15.

The top eight teams from the Senior National Championship qualify for the Federation Cup.

B Harika was the captain of the Telangana women’s team. Deepti and Vaishnavi were the top performers for the team in the championship.

Coaches Siddeshwar Reddy, Pradeep Reddy and Shiva Kumar Yadav congratulated the team on their performance.
