V Prathiksha hammered an unbeaten century to set up Hyderabad’s 97-run win over Himachal Pradesh in the BCCI Women’s U-19 one-day tournament in Lucknow on Monday.
Asked to bat first, Hyderabad made a horrendous start to their innings losing two wickets with just three on the board. Dhanya J Laxmi struck twice in the 4th over to put Hyderabad on the back foot. Dhanya bowled opener E Darshini (3) and two balls later trapped Deepshika (2) leg before.
Anshita M Sandal got rid of M Charvi (0) to leave Hyderabad in all sorts of trouble.
However, skipper K Nidhi and Hasini Adimulam got together to revive the innings. They added 84 for the fourth wicket before Dhanya got into the act again. She bagged her third wicket by having Hasini (37) caught by Kunjam Giri.
In strode Prathiksha to join the skipper. The duo took the score to 136 before Nidhi was trapped leg before by Pallavi Thakur. Nidhi, who is also the wicket-keeper, made a patient 65 off 89 balls with six hits to the fence.
Hyderabad lost another wicket in the form of N Babitha (2) with the score reading 152. Prathiksha and Sree Grandha produced the best period of batting for Hyderabad. They added 90 for the unbroken seventh wicket to take Hyderabad to 242 for six.
Prathiksha remained unbeaten on 100 off 62 balls with 10 fours and three sixes, while Sree Grandha was not out on a 26-ball 27 with a boundary.
Dhanya finished with figures of three for 63.
In reply, Himachal Pradesh too made a disastrous start losing three wickets with 20 on the board. K Srivalli bagged all the three wickets.
Kanu Priya (33) and skipper Dhanya (22) tried to salvage the situation, but they were unable to break the deadlock. Himachal were bowled out for 145.
N Babitha took four for 27 and Srivalli three for 38.

Tamanna, Ishana, Panmeet score centuries
Tamanna Choudhary and Ishana Swami struck centuries to set up Madhya Pradesh’s 85-run win over Vidarbha at the NFC ground in Hyderabad.
Batting first, Madhya Pradesh ran up 301 for four thanks to Tamanna’s unbeaten 109, which came off 123 balls and contained 10 fours and a six. Ishana too scored 106 off 126 balls with seven fours and a six.
In reply, Vidarbha could reach 216 for eight with Nabira scoring 63.
At the Gymkhana, Punjab eked out a comfortable seven-wicket win over Bihar with Parnmeet Kaur hammering an unbeaten 102. Replying to Bihar’s modest 191 for four, Punjab made 195 for three in 31.5 overs. Panmeet’s runs came off 80 balls with 13 fours and three sixes.
Karnataka scored a 43-run victory over Chhattisgarh at the RGIC Stadium. Kashvi K made 64 as Karnataka were bowled out for 180. However, the score was more than enough for Chhattisgarh, who were restricted to 137 for nine with J Deeksha taking four for 33.
