Avanthi Degree and PG College won the Osmania University Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo Men’s Championship for 2025-26 at the Osmania University Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. Dr BR Ambedkar College and RG Kedia College finished runners-up.
S Srivastava of Avinash College took the honours in the 87+ kgs weight category. He was followed by collegemate B Sai and T Ram Charan of Badruka came in third.
In the 87kg category, S Nithish Kumar of Dr B R Ambedkar College stole the thunder. T Abhishek of Avanthi College came in second, while Pawan Vaijee of Badruka College and Shaik Mazar Nawaz of Bhavans finished third.
The championship was organized by Avanthi Degree College. Dr Someshwar Rao, organising secretary, welcomed the guests. Sr Prof. Rajesh Kumar, dean, Faculty of Education, OU, Sr Prof B Sunil Kumar, principal, UCPE, OU, Sr Prof K Deepla, director of Physical Education, OU, and Dr J Babulal, taekwondo coach, were the guests.
