Evergreen hammer Deccan Wanderers by 182 runs, storm into final

Evergreen scored a 182-run win over Deccan Wanderers in the semifinals of the HCA A Division (2-day) League Championship in Hyderabad on Friday.

Evergreen, who had taken a narrow 29-run first innings lead, had gone on to wallop the Deccan Wanderers bowlers on way to a massive 438 for seven in their second innings.

Facing an uphill task of needing 468 for victory, Deccan Wanderers put up a fight, but the task was always going to be beyond their reach. Rishiket Sisodia made a topscore of 70 and Kranthi Kiran scored 56 but it was not sufficient as Deccan Wanderers finished with 285 for nine. Mudassar Ali made 49 and Ashish Srivastav remained unbeaten on 46.

Evergreen will meet EMCC in the final in what promises to be a royal contest.

Brief scores: A Division (2-day) League Championship (SFs): Evergreen 395/8 in 87.2 overs & 438/7 in 90 overs beat Deccan Wanderers 366/9 in 78.4 overs & 285/9 in 66.4 overs (Rishiket Sisodia 70, Mudassar Ali 49, Kranthi Kiran 56, Ashish Srivastav 46no).

Suranjeet, Arjun, Yuvan score tons; Shaurya bags five

Suranjeet Pattnayak and Arjun Diwakar scored centuries to help Team F pile up a massive 402 for eight against Team I in the HCA’s Under-14 probables matches.

Suranjeet made a 112-ball 100 with 18 fours and a six, while Arjun scored 108 off 131 balls with 15 boundaries. Utkarsh took four for 46 for Team I.

G Yuvan Srikanth Raj made a 151-ball 140 with 23 fours as Team B reached 225 against Team C, who replied with 171 for three.

Shaurya Singh took five for 34 to restrict Team D to 281 but Team A, in reply, were bundled out for 47.
