Lakshya FA scored a resounding 6-1 win over Hyderabad FA to win the Hyderabad Golden Cup 2026, a women’s football tournament held at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

In the final, Lakshya FA dominated the proceedings from the start of the game. Poojitha, Renuka and Aruna scored a brace each to power Lakshya to a comfortable victory.

Poojitha began the scoring in the 5th minute and Renuka struck in the 12th minute to make it 2-0 in favour of Lakshya. However, Hyderabad reduced the margin in the 16th minute through the boots of Ira.

But Poojitha restored the margin with a strike in the 21st minute and there was no looking back thereafter. Renuka made it 4-1 in the 29th minute and then Aruna took over. She scored in the 36th and 42nd minutes to seal the issue.

Poojitha, who struck 12 goals in the tournament, was adjudged the Best Scorer, while Ira walked away with the Emerging Player award. Bhagyamma won the Best Goalkeeper award and Wajhiya took home the Best Player award. Jiya clinched the Promising Player award.

Eight teams participated in the two-day tournament, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the teams, showcasing excellent talent and competitive football.

Telangana Football Association secretary GP Palguna was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and gave away the awards.

Result (final): Lakshya FA 6 (Poojitha 5th min, 21st min; Renuka 12th min, 29th min; Aruna 36th min, 42nd min) beat Hyderabad FA 1 (Ira 16th min).

Individual Awards: Best Scorer: Poojitha (Lakshya Football Academy) – 12 Goals. Best Goalkeeper: Bhagyamma (Lakshya Football Academy). Best Player: Wajhiya. Emerging Player: Ira (Hyderabad Football Academy). Promising Player: Jiya (BPHC).
