Lakshya FA score a 6-1 win over Hyderabad FA to win Hyderabad Golden Cup 2026

Lakshya FA scored a resounding 6-1 win over Hyderabad FA to win the Hyderabad Golden Cup 2026, a women’s football tournament held at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

In the final, Lakshya FA dominated the proceedings from the start of the game. Poojitha, Renuka and Aruna scored a brace each to power Lakshya to a comfortable victory.

Poojitha began the scoring in the 5^th minute and Renuka struck in the 12^th minute to make it 2-0 in favour of Lakshya. However, Hyderabad reduced the margin in the 16^th minute through the boots of Ira.

But Poojitha restored the margin with a strike in the 21^st minute and there was no looking back thereafter. Renuka made it 4-1 in the 29^th minute and then Aruna took over. She scored in the 36^th and 42^nd minutes to seal the issue.

Poojitha, who struck 12 goals in the tournament, was adjudged the Best Scorer, while Ira walked away with the Emerging Player award. Bhagyamma won the Best Goalkeeper award and Wajhiya took home the Best Player award. Jiya clinched the Promising Player award.

Eight teams participated in the two-day tournament, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the teams, showcasing excellent talent and competitive football.

Telangana Football Association secretary GP Palguna was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and gave away the awards.

Result (final): Lakshya FA 6 (Poojitha 5^th min, 21^st min; Renuka 12^th min, 29^th min; Aruna 36^th min, 42^nd min) beat Hyderabad FA 1 (Ira 16^th min).

Individual Awards: Best Scorer: Poojitha (Lakshya Football Academy) – 12 Goals. Best Goalkeeper: Bhagyamma (Lakshya Football Academy). Best Player: Wajhiya. Emerging Player: Ira (Hyderabad Football Academy). Promising Player: Jiya (BPHC).
