Rain washes out second day’s action; Stallions breeze past Blazers in Monday night’s action

Inclement weather had a final say on the second day’s action in the Sub-Junior & Youth League 2026 for Boys & Girls conducted by The Hyderabad District Basketball Association at the YMCA Secunerabad on Tuesday.

The season rains played spoilsport as Tuesday’s matches were put off which will undoubtedly throw the schedule of the tracks a wee bit.

On Monday night, in the second match of the tournament, Secunderabad Stallions breezed past Birla Blazers 78-54 after leading comfortably 35-26 at half-time.

Manvith and Karthik combined well for Secunderabad Stallions. Karthik was unstoppable as he got 12 of the 21 points scored by Secunderabad Stallions, who took the first quarter 21-4.

In the second quarter the teams’ second five players were out on the courts. Mulla Vasist was able to penetrate the defense and scored eight points. However, Rishon Reuben of Birla Blazers stole the show in the 2^nd quarter as scored 20 points out of 22 to bridge the gap. Secunderabad Stallions led 35-26 at half-time.

After change of ends with both teams’ first five back on the court there was plenty of hot action. Secunderabad Stallions were able to score well as Vasist was lending good support to Karthik.

On the other hand, Rishon was waging a lone battle as he could not garner much support from his teammates. Secunderabad Stallions led 59-45 at end of the third quarter.

In the final quarter, Bhavesh scored 5 consecutive points but Secunderabad Stallions maintained the same tempo scoring 19 points through Karthik and Vasist and by restricting Birla Blazers to just 9 points won the match comfortably 78-54.

Result: Secunderabad Stallions 78 (Karthik 34, Vasist 16, Manvith 6, Adharv 6) beat Birla Blazers 54 (Rishon 34, Bhavyesh 7, Trishul 5, Neil 4) HT: 35-26.
