Aisha, Ananya and Bhavishya shine as Hyderabad maul Goa by 10 wickets

Shaik Aisha and Ananya Dandu claimed four wickets apiece to set up Hyderabad’s thumping 10-wicket victory over Goa in the BCCI’s U-15 Women’s One-day Elite Tournament at the ACA VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

After bowling Goa out for a lowly 88, Hyderabad openers Bhavishya Reddy and skipper P Shanvi strung a 93-run partnership for the unbroken first wicket to complete the formalities.

Electing to bat, Goa were off to a decent start with openers Norah and Teertha putting on 33 for the first wicket in 10.2 overs before Ananya struck. She had Norah (16) leg before and six runs later Aisha had Teertha (5) caught and bowled.

Joya Meer and skipper Arya tried to steer Goa clear, but Aisha struck twice in quick succession. She caught and bowled Arya (2) and a run later bowled Joya Meer (14).

Shreeshtika Shivarkar (13) was the only other batter to reach double figures as the rest of the cast fell by the wayside. Goa were bundled out for 88 in 30.4 overs.

Aisha took four for 13 in 7 overs and Ananya bagged four for 23 in 6 overs.

Hyderabad openers Shanvi and Bhavishya Reddy put the Goa attack to the sword as they ran up 93 in 16.5 overs to clinch the issue. Shanvi was not out on 37 off 53 balls with four boundaries and a six, while Bhavishya scored a 48-ball 55 with 10 hits to the fence.

Hyderabad took four points from the game and are second in the table with eight points behind Punjab, who too have eight points but have a better net run rate.
