Five-star Mirza Abbas Ali Baig goes on a rampage as Telangana rout Pondicherry 5-0

Mirza Abbas Ali Baig scored five goals as Telangana routed Pondicherry 5-0 in the Under-20 Men’s National Football Championship at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram Ground in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, on Sunday.

Mirza Abbas Ali Baig was all over the Pondicherry territory as he scored at will. The rival defenders had no clue on stopping the marauding Abbas. The Telangana football began his scoring spree by striking as early as the fifth minute of the game. He then scored the second goal in the 34^th minute as the teams went into the break with Telangana leading 2-0.

Upon resumption, Telangana were back in the attack mode with Abbas Ali Baig leading the onslaught. However, the Pondicherry defenders held on grimly till the 76^th minute before their resolve weakened and chinks appeared in the wall.

Abbas Ali Baig scored the third goal in the 76^th minute and made it 4-0 in favour of Telangana in the 84^th minute. Abbas rounded off the tally in the 93^rd minute.
