Aditya Vardhan slams superb 133 puts Hyderabad on top against Delhi

Hyderabad skipper Aditya Vardhan won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. The decision proved good as Aditya struck a fine century to help his team reach 353 for four against Delhi on the first day of their Vijay Merchant Trophy match at the ACA Stadium in Mangalagiri on Tuesday.

Hyderabad got a solid start with openers varshit and C Sai Tanishq putting the Delhi attack to the sword. The duo added 95 for the first wicket before Varshit was caught by Navneet Solanki off Vedant Sehwag for 37. His knock came off 75 balls and had one six and six fours.

Parthiv joined Tanishq and they took the score to 140 before Tanishq was trapped leg before by Lakshey Barthwal. Tanishq made a fine 80 off 115 balls with 15 boundaries.

In strode the skipper and though he lost the services of Parthiv (24), who was stumped by Navneet Solanki off Abeer Sudan, he found an able ally in Prince.

Aditya and Prince took over the proceedings and sent the Delhi bowlers on a leather hunt. They added 185 runs for the fourth wicket off 268 balls. Aditya’s contribution was 112 off 124 balls and Prince made 67 off 144 balls.

Aditya finally fell when his score was 133. He ws caught by Vedant Sehwag off Lakshey Barthwal. Before that, Aditya had struck 21 boundaries.

Prince was batting on 67 off 150 balls with eight fours and Ram Charan (0 batting) joined him to see off the last seven balls of the day.

Rohith, Anirudh hit half-centuries to prop up Karnataka

Half-centuries by R Rohith Reddy and Syaamantak Anirudh helped Karnataka reach 262 for five against Andhra at the BSP Cricket Stadium in Bhilai on Tuesday.

Electing to bat, Karnataka lost Niranjan Ashok, who was caught by Rishi Kumar Reddy off Yalamanchili Lalit for six. Karnataka had 20 on the board at that time.

Rohith Reddy was joined by Arush Jain, and the duo took the score to 98 before the skipper fell for 36 (70balls, 4×4). They had added 78 for the second wicket off 133 balls.

M Rohith (3) fell quite early, and Karnataka were 106 for three. Sukurth J (24) joined Rohith, and the duo added 32 for the fourth wicket before Sukurth was caught by Bhavesh Ch off K Gowtham Arya.

Anirudh came to the crease and along with Rohith took Karnataka to a safe zone with a 77-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The stand was broken when Rohith was bowled by G Gowtham. He scored a 238-ball 92 with 10 hits to the fence.

Anirudh and Aaryansinh N Chavda (15 batting) added 47 for the unbroken sixth wicket with Anirudh batting on 71 off 129 balls with eight fours and two sixes.
