Soumit Panda smashed a blistering century to set up RBI’s thumping 182-run win over National Insurance in the HCA D-Division (Institution) One-Day League Championship in Hyderabad.
Batting first, RBI ran up a mammoth 272 for seven in 25 overs with Soumit Panda going berserk. He smashed four sixes and 10 boundaries as he scored an unbeaten 103 off just 55 balls. He was ably supported by Prashanth who made 70 and Amol Malhari Raut who scored 48. P Vijay Kumar took three for 45 for National Insurance.
In reply, National Insurance had no stomach to put up a fight and were bowled out for 90 in 22.2 overs. Amol Malhari Raut took three for eight.
Hemraj Yadav and Nookaraju struck half-centuries to propel ECIL to an eight-wicket win over OMC.
Chasing 130 for victory, ECIL reached the target losing two wickets in just 13.4 overs with Hemraj Yadav scoring an unbeaten 55 and T Nookaraju getting 54.
Earlier, OMC were bundled out for 129 with B Venkatesh taking three for 15.
Naresh Goud took four for 35 to set up IICT Staff Club’s three-wicket win over LIC.
In another match, E Raghupathi claimed four for 51 but GHMC suffered a 109-run loss to Air India. M Rajesh took four for 23 for Air India.
