The Indian basketball team will be on the road to face Qatar and Lebanon in the second window of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, which start on Friday.
The India vs Qatar and India vs Lebanon FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifier Group D matches will be available to watch on live streaming in India. India will take on Qatar in Lusail before making the trip to Zouk Mikael for the Lebanon challenge.
The top three teams from each of the four groups in the Asian leg of the ongoing first round of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers will advance to the second round, which will decide which teams qualify for the main event in August-September.
Since Qatar are already assured an entry in the second round and then in the main tournament as the tournament hosts, only two other teams will progress to the second round from Group D, which includes India, Qatar, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
Having lost both their matches against Saudi Arabia, India find themselves at the bottom of the group and will need favourable results in this window to stay in contention for a place in the second round.

India are 75th in the FIBA rankings, while Qatar and Lebanon are 78th and 28th, respectively.
Even a win in the second window could get India back in contention for the second round of qualifiers, considering they will play both their matches in the third and final qualifying window of the first round at home.

Last week, Scott Flemming announced that he will be stepping down from his role as the head coach of the Indian men’s national basketball team. However, the timeline for the American coach’s departure is still not final and he will be helming the team in the upcoming matches.
India have picked a 12-member basketball squad for the second window of the FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers. Princepal Singh, who missed the first window matches against Saudi Arabia, is back in the contingent.
