Five-star Shahrukh Khan bowls Concorde to 35-run win over Osmania University

Md Shahrukh Khan bowled Concorde to a 35-run win over Osmania University in the league phase of the HCA B Division T20 tournament in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Batting first, Concorde made a modest 164 for five in 20 overs with No.3 bat Santosh Kumar Gupta making a topscore of 53 off 37 balls with eight fours.

In reply, Osmania University were bowled out for 129 in 18.1 overs with Shahrukh, who comes for a poor family, taking five for 17 in 3.1 overs. He began by having topscorer S Ashish Vardhan (47) caught by Lalith. The leggie, whose father sells helmets on the roadside, then ran through the lower order to decimate the Osmania challenge.

Shakeer, Sankeerthan shine

Mohd Ahmed Shakeer struck an unbeaten century as Postal carved out a narrow two-run win over Venus Cybertech.

Batting first, Postal made 152 for three in 19 overs with Shakeer making a 60-ball 101 with nine four and six sixes.

In reply, Venus batters fought well but fell short by two runs. They were restricted to 150 for nine in 10 overs with Krishna Pasarla making 55. Srikanth P bagged three for 25 for the winners.

Jai Hari Sankeerthan took four for 24 to set up Rakesh XI’s five-wicket win over Cheerful Chums.

Jai Hanuman scored a 14-run win over Sporting XI in the A Division T20 league. Jai Hanuman, batting first, made 182 for six with A Prateek Reddy scoring 89. In reply, Sporting XI were restricted to 168 for nine with Ranganath BK taking four for 23.
