The 74th B N Mullick Memorial All India Police Football Championship will be held at the Gachibowli Stadium from March 25 to April 5. Fifty-three teams, including men’s and women’s contingents from various states and Central Armed Police Forces, will take part in the championship.

The championship is being hosted by the Telangana state police department. On Monday, Telangana director general of police (DGP) B Shivadhar Reddy met state governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan to formally invite him to attend the inaugural ceremony of the championship as the chief guest.

On this occasion, the DGP briefed the governor regarding the arrangements made for conducting the tournament, as well as the details of the police teams arriving from various states across the country. This mega-tournament is set to commence at 3 pm on March 25.

As part of the inaugural festivities, events such as the ceremonial Guard of Honour by police contingents from various states, a March Past by the athletes, and the hoisting of the All India Police Sports Flag will be conducted with great grandeur.

The Governor will officially inaugurate the championship, and a series of special cultural programs are expected to serve as the main highlight of the event. The venue is now ready to provide a platform for the finest football players from various states, Union Territories, and Central Security Forces across the nation to showcase their talent.

These competitions are expected to contribute not only to fostering the spirit of sportsmanship but also to enhancing coordination and camaraderie among the police forces of different states.

Abhilasha Bisht, director of the RBVRR Telangana Police Academy, and Sports IGP Dr Gajarao Bhupal, among others, were present at this meeting.
