Forty-five men teams and six women teams will clash for honours in the GM Sampath Kumar Annual League Basketball Championship 2026 at the YMCA Secunderabad basketball courts from September 17.
The tournament is being conducted by The Hyderabad District Basketball Association and the 45 men teams are divided in 3 levels with the top teams grouped based on their performance of last year’s edition. The six women teams play on League basis.
Level-III comprises of 21 teams divided in five Pools with four Pools of four teams each and one pool with five teams play matches on League-cum-Knockout basis with the top four teams from level-III progressing to level-II joining 12 teams in level-II.
Level II with four pools of four teams will play matches on league-cum-knockout basis and the top 4 teams from level-II will progress to level-I which has 12 teams.
Level-I with four pools of 4 teams each will play league-cum-knockout basis with top 2 teams progressing to the quarterfinal knockout to decide the champion this year.
Last year’s winners Keystone Basketball Academy and runners-up Titans have been given the top seeding placed in Pool A and Pool B in Level-I.
