Germany’s Alexander Zverev, who is ranked World No.2, is on a roll. After winning the 2026 French Open title, Zverev is looking to tame the grass at the famed Wimbledon.

Speaking to JioStar, Alexander Zverev opened up about his form ahead of his Round of 16 match at the Wimbledon. “In a way, yes, I feel that I have been playing really well so far in this edition of Wimbledon. I have found my rhythm on grass, which is not always easy. I have been able to give my best in every match, and I want to keep that going. The confidence is there, and I am enjoying the conditions. I just want to continue playing my best tennis and give myself the best chance to win the next match as well. Every round gets tougher, but I am ready for the challenge,” he said.

On how winning the French Open has boosted his self-belief and made him feel he can achieve the same at Wimbledon, the German said: “I waited such a long time to win my first major, and that happened at the French Open. I had a lot of heartbreaks along the way, but once you do it once, you feel like you can do it again. That is the most important thing. I have belief now. That first major win at the French Open gives me immense confidence in my ability to do the same here at Wimbledon 2026 as well. I know grass is a different challenge, but I have been working hard to adapt my game. I am just focused on giving my best and playing good tennis. Every match is a new opportunity, and I want to make the most of it.”

On the challenge of facing Jiri Lehecka, he said: “I have a very tough challenge ahead of me in the Round of 16 against Jiri Lehecka. He has been playing fantastic tennis so far, and he is a player who can hit through the court. He serves big and takes the ball early, so I know it’s going to be a battle. I think this is going to be the toughest test I have faced in this tournament, and I am looking forward to it. These are the kind of matches you play for. I am ready to go out there and compete.”
