Young India Sports Summit to focus on building a strong sports system in Telangana

The Young India Sports Summit 2026, under the aegis of the Young India Physical Education & Sports University (YIPESU), will be held at the Gachibowli Stadium (Hall No. 113), Hyderabad, on Thursday (April 30).

This summit will serve as a prominent platform for discussions on sports policies, education, research, technology, and employment opportunities in India’s sports sector. Policymakers, sports experts, academicians, industry representatives, and distinguished intellectuals will participate to deliberate comprehensively on key issues contributing to the development of Indian sports.

In line with the vision of chief minister Revanth Reddy, the Young India Physical Education & Sports University (YIPESU) was established in Telangana as a key pillar for building a robust sports ecosystem and developing specialized sports infrastructure.

The objectives of YIPESU are: Building a strong and sustainable sports system in the state, providing high-quality education and training in the sports sector, enhancing sports skills among youth.

Following the directives of Revanth Reddy and sports minister Vakiti Srihari, this mega event has been organized to advance these objectives. This is the first major event being conducted under the leadership of Young India Physical Education & Sports University.

Some of the participants are Jayesh Ranjan, Spl CS, sports dept, AP Jithender Reddy, sports advisor, Shiva Sena Reddy, SATG chairman, Dr Soni Bala Devi, SATA VC & MD, Arekapudi Gandhi, MLA Serilingampalli.

Other prominent sports personalities include Pullela Gopichand, N Mukesh, Nagapuri Ramesh, JJ Shoba, Ismail Baig, Neha Agarwal and others.

Vice-chancellor Dr Kishore Gopinathan stated that the summit’s primary goals are: To strengthen and modernize Telangana’s sports academic ecosystem in alignment with global best practices, to expand sports opportunities for youth of the state, to enhance India’s international sporting performance by developing high-quality sports professionals and upskilling the existing sports ecosystem.
