Abhishek Nayar share’s a story from Rohit’s early days in cricket, he says, “Toh aap sab log jaante ho ki Rohit bhulakkad hai aur woh bhulta hai. But main aapko batata hoon, yeh story ka start kahan se hota hai cricket mein.”

Abhishek takes the audience back to the time when a young Rohit was selected for the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team for the first time. Recalling the big match and the experienced players around him, he says, “Ab aap ek yuva khiladi ho, pehli baar select huye Mumbai Ranji Trophy team ke liye. Yeh bahut bada match tha, bade-bade khiladi the. Usmein pehli baar hamare priya dost, mitra 17 saal ke the matra, select huye pehli baar team mein. Aur match ke din subah-subah stadium mein aaye kit bag ke bina.”

But according to Abhishek, arriving without his kit bag was only the beginning. He continues, “Lekin story yahan khatam nahi hoti hai. Yeh shaatir tab se the, kyunki bhul toh gaye the par jab unhe poocha gaya tha ki tera kit bag kidhar hai. Bolta hai ki, ‘Sir, train mein aa raha tha toh kisi ne dhakka de diya aur kit bag gir gaya bahar.’ Aur yeh sach hai koi story nahi hai, dimaag tab se chalta hai inka.”

Rohit is quick to defend himself and clarifies that he was simply sharing what had actually happened, saying, “Dimaag nahi chalta hai bhai, jo hua tha woh maine bataya tha.”
