Unseeded Shivam Yadav of Uttar Pradesh caused the biggest upset in the finals of the 7th Senior National Para Badminton Championship 2026 at the Heartfulness Gopichand Badminton Academy (HGBA) at Kanha Shanti Vanam in Hyderabad.
Shivam Yadav defeated fourth seed Dev Rathi of Haryana in straight games to win the title in the men’s singles (SU5) category. Shivam won 21-14, 21-16.
Top seed Manisha Ramadass of Tamil Nadu prevailed over statemate and second seed Thulasimathi Murugesan in a thrilling three game contest. Manisha won 21-16, 18-21, 21-18
Unseeded Aaryan Sharma of Rajasthan claimed the title in the SL4 category without hitting a shuttle. His opponent and top seed Naveen Sivakumar of Tamil Nadu gave a walk-over.
In the other men’s singles finals of various categories, the form book was maintained. Top seed Nitesh Kumar of Haryana defeated second seed Jagdesh Dilli of Tamil Nadu 21-12, 21-16 to win the SL3 title.
In the SH6 final, Krishna Nagar of Rajasthan defeated second seed Sudarsan MS of Tamil Nadu 21-10, 21-19 and top seed Haris Mythili Srikumar of Tamil Nadu won the title in the WH2 category. He defeated unseeded Siddanna S Sahukar of Karnataka 22-20, 21-11.
In the women’s singles SU5 category, top seed Manisha Ramadass of Tamil Nadu prevailed over statemate and second seed Thulasimathi Murugesan in a thrilling three game contest. Manisha won 21-16, 18-21, 21-18.
