Jashwan Sadabattula bagged two gold medals as Telangana kickboxers delivered an outstanding performance at the WAKO India Junior National Kickboxing Championship 2026 (Boys & Girls) held at KT Global School, Odisha, from May 30 to June 3, 2026, securing a remarkable 19 medals and bringing laurels to the state.
Representing the Telangana Kickboxing Association, a contingent of 34 athletes competed in 58 events, winning an impressive tally of 6 gold, 3 silver, and 10 bronze medals. Thereby, Telangana secured the 8th position nationally.
Notably, this marks the highest-ever medal tally for Telangana in the history of the Junior National Kickboxing Championships.
In recognition of this historic achievement, Sonibala Devi, managing director, Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG), met and congratulated the medal-winning athletes at the LB Stadium, Hyderabad, on Tuesday.
She appreciated their dedication and hard work, and encouraged them to continue striving for greater success at national and international levels.
The coaches, who played a pivotal role in preparing and guiding the athletes to this level of success, SK Mujahid, D Laxman, G Mallesh, M Praveen, G Manikantha, and P Kumar were also present on the occasion.
The felicitation program was attended by deputy director Anita, Telangana Kickboxing Association president C Ramanjaneyulu, general secretary M Mahipal, and other officials.
