SSB win judo championship at police meet, while BSF and UP Police finish 2nd and 3rd

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) emerged as champions in judo competitions by bagging six gold, four silver and four bronze medals on the second day of the 11th All India Police Judo Cluster Championship 2026, being organised by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB), at Hyderabad on Friday.

Border Security Force (BSF) secured the runners-up position with 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals, while Uttar Pradesh Police finished third with 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.

H Sunibala Devi of Manipur won the gold medal in the 78+ kg weight category of the women’s section. Jyoti of SSB took the silver, while Nutan Sharma of CISF and Uma Chauhan of CRPF had to be content with the bronze.

In the 78kg weight category, Reetika Dahiya of ITBP won the gold, while T Geetamani Devi of SSB bagged the silver. Aakansha Choudhary of Uttar Pradesh and Muskan of CISF won the bronze medal.

In the men’s 100+ kg weight category, Dhyan Singh of SSB took home the gold medal, while Vishal of CISF won the silver. Manoj of BSF and Sunil of Uttar Pradesh claimed the bronze medal.

In the 100 kg weight category, Aman Kumar of SSB emerged victorious. Yash Bhardwaj of SSB won the silver, while Kunal of CRPF and Rahul of CISF claimed the bronze.

Judo competitions saw the participation of 289 competitors from 31 Central and State Police organisations, 186 in the men’s event across seven weight categories and 103 in the women’s event across seven weight categories. A total of 331 bouts were contested, 207 in the men’s event and 124 in the women’s event.

Dr Akoijam Sonibala Devi, vice-chairperson and managing director, Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG), and Shashikant Reddy, CSO, GMR, graced the venue and witnessed the Wushu Sanda event. The dignitaries felicitated the medal winners of the women’s judo event.

Results: Women: 48 kg: 1. Antim Yadav (UP), 2. Mansi (UP), 3. Kabita Devi (SSB) & Ranjit Kaur (CRPF).

52 kg: 1. L Chanu N (ASF), 2. Sanisha NB (CISF), 3. H Matouleibi Devi (CRFP) & Ningthojam Haripiyari Chanu (BSF).

57kg: 1. Poonam Kumar (SSB), 2. Puja Basumatary (ASF), 3. Chanam Rebina Devi (CISF) & Sarada Devi (SSB).

63 kg: 1. I Kalpana Devi (SSB), 2. Th Chaoba Chanu (SSB), 3. Preeti (CISF) & Talha Fayaz (CISF).

70 kg: 1. Sonam (Punjab), 2. Mahima Pathak (CISF), 3. Moonika Hooda (ITBP) & Ritika (CRPF).

78 kg: 1. Reetika Dahiya (ITBP), 2. T Geetamani Devi (SSB), 3. Aakansha Choudhary (UP) & Muskan (CISF).

78+ kg: 1. H Sunibala Devi (Manipur), 2. Jyoti (SSB), 3. Nutan Sharma (CISF) & Uma Chauhan (CRPF).

Men: 60 kg: 1. Vivek Yadav (UP), 2. Ankush Lathwal (CRPF), 3. Himanshu Chaudhary (ITBP) and Sapam Maimu Meitei (CRPF).

66 kg: 1. Mahesh Inder Saini (BSF), 2. Shivam Kumar (BSF), 3. Keshav (SSB) and Vishal Yadav (UP).

73 kg: 1. Max Laishram (SSB), 2. Sourabh (BSF), 3. Jatin (CISF) & Nishant Singh (SSB).

81 kg: 1. Varun Sharma (BSF), 2. Manpreet (CISF), 3. M Inaotono Singh (Manipur) & Narender (CISF).

90 kg: 1. Vikram (SSB), 2. Navdeep Chana (ITBP), 3. Pawan Kumar (CRPF) & Vikas Kharb (ITBP).

100 kg: 1. Aman Kumar (SSB), 2. Yash Bhardwaj (SSB), 3. Kunal (CRPF) & Rahul (CISF).

100+ kg: 1. Dhyan Singh (SSB), 2. Vishal (CISF), 3. Manoj (BSF) & Sunil (UP).
