Sri Saanvi reigns supreme with a hat-trick; Mohd Ali, Jatin, Riya and Shobhik claim titles

K Sri Saanvi reigned supreme with the SGUTTA paddler clinching three gold medals in the 6th Table Tennis For Life Telangana State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2026 at the LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. K Sri Saanvi won the women’s singles, Under-19 and 17 titles to steal the show.

In the women’s singles final, Saanvi defeated BV Mahima Krishna 4-2. Mahima took the first game 11-9 but Saanvi came back strongly to win the next three at 11-5, 11-7 and 11-5. Mahima fought back to take the next one 11-9 but Saani was in no mood to let go the opportunity to win a triple crown. She took the sixth game 11-9 and sealed the issue.

In the Under-19 final, Saanvi proved unstoppable as she thumped Rithisha of SPARS 4-0.

In the Under-17 final, Saanvi had a tough outing against academy mate Anitah Anand. Saanvi prevailed 3-2 against the fighting Anitah. In a see-saw match, Saanvi won the first game 11-8 but Anitah took the next one at 12-10. Saanvi won the third one 11-4 and Anitah claimed the fourth game 11-6. However, Saanvi won the fifth game 11-9 to clinch the title.

SGUTTA’s Jatin Dev, who is on a comeback trail, defeated Hriaan of LFHSA 4-1 in the Under-19 boys’ final. Jatin was off the blocks quickly as he won the first two games 11-8, ,15-13 but suffered a blip on the radar. Hriaan took the third set 11-8 but Jatin came back strongly to win the next two games at 12-10, 12-10.

Jatin was National School Games champion in 2024, and the state champion for six years in various age group categories. He was also the Khelo India athlete from 2018 to 2024. He, however, took a break to prepare for the various entrance tests. He is presently pursuing B.Tech course from Osmania University.

Vihaan, Yashasree, Pramaan, Harshith, Avanthika triumph

Shobhik Jain and Riya Shaik won the Under-11 boys and girls titles. M Vihaan and Yashasree Sil took home the Under-13 titles, while G Pramaan and Avanthika claimed the Under-15 crowns. Harshith B won the Under-17 boys title and Mohammed Ali claimed the men’s singles title.

Results (finals): Under-11 boys: Shobhik Jain (GSM) beat Jatin Jairam (SGUTTA) 3-2 (9-11, 11-7, 11-7, 3-11, 11-7). Girls: Riya Shaik (SGUTTA) beat Adhira Chetan (HVS) 3-2 (6-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-8).

Under-13 boys: M Vihaan (ITTA) beat Srishiva Advik (PPTTA) 3-0 (11-9, 12-10, 11-2). Girls: Yashasree Sil (SGUTTA) beat Aviyah (SGUTTA) 3-0 (11-7, 11-4, 11-9).

Under-15 boys: G Pramaan (LFA) beat Virat Sagar (SGUTTA) 3-2 (8-11, 4-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-4). Girls: Avanthika (SPARS) beat S Gayathri (GSM) 3-1 (11-6, 11-6, 12-14, 11-5).
