Sreenidi Deccan FC came back to winning ways with a 1–0 away victory against Gokulam Kerala FC in the Indian Football League 2025–26 season at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri.

Fabrice Kah scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute.

Head coach Carlos Vaz Pinto made three changes to his starting eleven following the defeat to Chanmari FC. Goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh was handed his debut, replacing Aryan Lamba in goal. In the outfield, Deepak DP and Ajay Chhetri made their first starts of the season ahead of Muhammad Hammad and Lalthankhuma respectively.

Sreenidi Deccan FC started the game enjoying the majority of possession and creating chances from set pieces. The first opportunity of the game came when David Castaneda was found unmarked at the far post from a corner, but the Colombian failed to keep his header on target. Although the defensive unit of the Deccan Warriors was called into action a couple of times, the hosts were unable to trouble Kamaljit in goal. In the additional time of the first half, Idrissou headed a delivery from a corner onto the crossbar and away to safety.

The Deccan Warriors came into the second half with greater intensity, and the reward came in the 54th minute. David Castaneda’s cross from inside the box beat the goalkeeper, and Fabrice Kah was at the far post to put the ball into the back of the net and give the visitors a vital lead. Moments later, Abhijith K had a go at the opposition goal from the edge of the box, but his effort went wide.

The Deccan Warriors enjoyed the majority of possession and created several chances in the second half but were unable to double their lead. After seven minutes of additional time, the full-time whistle confirmed the Deccan Warriors’ second win in their opening three matches of the season.

Sreenidi Deccan FC will now host Namdhari FC on March 19 at the Deccan Arena in Hyderabad.
