Siddharth Dutta stole the thunder as the 2nd Telangana State Equestrian Championship, presented by Phoenix Group, opened its competition programme on Saturday at the Hyderabad Polo & Riding Club (HPRC), Gandipet, with seven classes decided across Hacks, Dressage and Show Jumping — from the 40 cm entry classes and the Under 12 Hacks for the youngest riders in the state, to the 100–105 cm Show Jumping under lights in the Main Arena.
The Championship is conducted in association with the Telangana State Equestrian Association (TSEA).
In the Dressage, Siddharth Dutta rode two horses into the top two places of the Children I class – 60.658% on Wilbur for the title and 59.632% on Burning Arrow for second – with Janampally Hitesh Reddy third on Centaur. In the Junior class, HPRC’s Gautam Sanjay Sujanaani took the state title with 60.200% on Airstrike, ahead of Anet Castilino on Bella (59.100%) and Kumbham Sai Tanvi Reddy on Centaur.
Abdul Manan on Dilano was the clear winner in the 100–105 cm Open competitions
The evening’s Show Jumping produced the closest finish of the day. In the 100–105 cm Open, Abdul Manan on Dilano was the clear winner, with four combinations — Eeshaan Bharadwaj on Salerno, S Mahesh on Handsome Boy, and Sanjay Rama Raju on both Condero and Cornelius — sharing joint second place. In the Under 18 section of the same class, Sauryaram Indukuri and Happyness, the only clear round of Thursday’s National Qualifier Children I show jumping, took the state title ahead of Eeshaan Bharadwaj and Prabhnoor Singh.
The 40 cm classes, kept deliberately affordable so that beginners on club horses can compete for a state medal, were won by Naag Hridhaan Mulugu on King (Under 12), with HPRC’s Luv Manne second on Duke, and by Jagadeesh Archi on Power (Open). The Under 12 Hacks — for riders not competing in any other discipline — went to Catherine on Prithvi, with Rianshi Agarwal second and two HPRC riders, Vir Reddy on Trustful and Akira Manne on Baretta, sharing third. With Gautam Sujanaani’s Junior Dressage title, the host club finished the day with four riders on the podium.

The cash prizes of the Championship’s Open classes will be presented together at Sunday’s closing ceremony by the representative of Phoenix Group.
