Telangana athletes produced an exceptional show at the 7th National Masters Athletics Championship in Ajmer, Rajasthan, from January 29 to February 2.
The Telangana athletes won a total of 199 medals. Out of which, 66 were gold medals, 61 silver medals and 63 bronze medals. A total of 236 men and women from Telangana participated in the championship.
Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) VC & MD Soni Bala Devi congratulated the athletes for their stupendous show. “It is commendable to participate in sports and win medals regardless of age,” she said.
She specially congratulated the athletes who, despite their advanced age, have maintained their enthusiasm for sports and have represented the state at National level competitions and won medals.
She stated that their hard work and perseverance will serve as an inspiration to others.
