Y Sandeep struck an unbeaten half-century to power Capital Amaravathi Royals to a five-wicket win over Vijayawada Sunshiners in the Andhra Premier League Season 5 at the ACA International Stadium in Mangalagiri on Friday.
Chasing 171 for victory, Capital Amaravathi Royals reached the target in 19 overs with Sandeep doing the bulk of the scoring. Sandeep scored 93 without being conquered off 61 balls with six fours and an equal number of sixes.
Earlier, Vijayawada Sunshiners failed to put up a big score as their batters got starts but failed to build on it. Vijayawada Sunshiners made 170 in 20 overs with DB Prashanth making a topscore of 47 off 31 balls with three fours and two sixes.
Skipper K Ashwin Hebbar scored 39 off 25 balls with four boundaries and a six, while Maddila Harsha Vardhan made a 27-ball 37 with three fours and a six.
B Ayyappa took two for 33 and M Toshith Yadav, who has been having a great tournament thus far, finished with two for 38.

Prashanth shines for Vijayawada
In an earlier match, DB Prashanth steered Vijayawada Sunshiners to a 19-run win over Royals of Rayalaseema.
Batting first, Vijayawada Sunshiners had scored a commanding 208 for five with Prashanth in fine form. He struck five four and two sixes in a 33-ball 60 and Shaik Zaheer Abbas complemented him well with a half-century.
Abbas hammered seven sixes and a four in a blistering knock of 53 not out which came off 20 balls and Maddila Harsha Vardhan scored a 24-ball 36 with two fours and two sixes.
Then B Pranav Reddy stole the show with a four-wicket haul which restricted Royals of Rayalaseema to 189 for nine. Pranav Reddy took four for 43 as A Surya Teja Reddy topscored for the losers with a 28-ball 44 with three fours and three sixes. M Vamsi Krishna made a 23-ball 37 with five fours and two sixes.

Bhui ton helps Lions down Royals
Skipper Ricky Bhui slammed an unbeaten century to set up Simhadri Vizag Lions narrow four-run win over Royals of Rayalaseema.
Batting first, Simhadri Vizag Lions made 190 for five with Ricky Bhui scoring 111 of those. His runs came off 57 balls and contained six fours and nine sixes. Y Vasu took two for 44 for the losers.
In reply, Royals of Rayalaseema were restricted to 186 for eight despite GSP Teja scoring a 38-ball 62 with seven fours and a six. B Vinay Kumar (2/34) and SMD Kamil (2/35) combined to deny Rayalaseema a win.

Abhinav, Hebbar hammer centuries
In the last match at the YS Raja Reddy Stadium in Kadapa, M Abhinav and K Ashwin Hebbar had set the stands on fire with exciting centuries that helped Vijayawada Sunshiners post a whopping 110-run win over Kakinada Kings.
Batting first, Vijayawada Sunshiners posted an unbelievable 290 for one in their 20 overs. M Abhinav hammered 10 sixes and nine fours in his 69-ball unbeaten 137. Ashwin Hebbar scored 130 off 53 balls as he blazed 13 fours and nine sixes in his belligerent knock.
In reply, Kakinada Kings were restricted to 180 for nine with M Lekhaz Reddy scoring 31 and O Baswanth Krishna getting 30. B Pranav Reddy took three for 26 for the Sunshiners.
