Rishika stars as White Horse Padel Club win inaugural NSL Hyderabad Padel League

Rishika Sunkara led White Horse Padel Club to an easy 3-1 win over Hy Rollers to win the inaugural season of the NSL Hyderabad Padel League in Hyderabad.

Hy Rollers began the final on a rousing note as Krishna Teja and Mutyala Vineeth defeated Pranav Reddy and Shashank Tiwari 2-0. But White Horse Padel Club came back into the match thereafter.

Rishika Sunkara won both of her matches to lead White Horse Padel Club to victory. Rishika partnered Likhitha Kalava as they defeated Maithili Parimi and Padma Veda Manikonda 2-0.

Hy-Rollers crush Apex Strikers 4-0

Rishika then returned to win the mixed doubles tie with V Dhiraj Reddy as they defeated Jayanth Tammineedi and Padma Veda Manikonda 2-0.

In between, Ajay Pruthvi and Bhaskar Paramatmuni won the men’s doubles 2 match by overcoming a fighting Gundlapalle Yashwanth and DRC Kiron 2-1.

In the semifinals, White Horse Padel Club had an easy outing against Hy Panthers as they cruised to a comfortable 3-1 win. On the other hand, Hy Rollers had to wage a grim battle before edging Senses United in the super tie-breaker. After splitting the four ties 2-2, Hy Rollers won the super tie-breaker 10-7 to squeeze into the final.

The league marked an important milestone in the growth of padel in Hyderabad. The league brought together an extraordinary mix of sporting icons, celebrities and influential personalities from across India.

The event witnessed the presence and participation of several distinguished personalities, including former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin, Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal, international table tennis player Naina Jaiswal and Anam Mirza. They were joined by other prominent figures from the fields of sport, cinema, business, fashion and entertainment.

Their association added remarkable star power and visibility to the league. It also helped unite Hyderabad’s diverse sporting and cultural communities on a common platform. The enthusiastic participation of players, guests and supporters reflected padel’s rapidly growing popularity beyond the traditional sporting fraternity.
