Rishab Baslas and P Ashish Abhay put EMCC in the driver’s seat against Evergreen in the final of the HCA A Division (2-day) League Championship on Wednesday.
Mayank Gupta, on the day he was dropped from the Hyderabad Under-23, scored a half-century and P Sai Vikas Reddy, whose credentials were consistently snubbed by the Senior Selection Committee this season, also hit a half-century but the show was stolen by spinner Rishab Baslas and P Ashish Abhay.
Batting first, Evergreen reached a modest 247 in 57.2 overs with Sai Vikas Reddy hitting 70 and Mayank Gupta too getting the exact score of his teammate. P Gaurav Reddy chipped in with a 42 but the other failed to come to the party.
Rishab Baslas spun a web of deceit around the Evergreen batters and reaped a rich harvest in the form of four for 50. Asish Abhay too had figures of three for 52 and the duo kept the Evergreen score to a manageable one.
In reply, EMCC were 101 for three in 20 overs at stumps. M Sai Pragnay Reddy, who struck a century against Chhattisgarh in the Ranji Trophy a couple of days ago, was batting on 36.

Medak thrash Adilabad, reach final
Medak scored a 103-run victory over Adilabad in the semifinal of the Inter-Districts one-day tournament at the VJ Rao Memorial Cricket Ground in Alugunur on Wednesday.
Batting first, Medak scored 223 with Si Harshith making 55, while P Rishwanth and Md Rehmath scored 37 and 33 respectively. N Dikshit Reddy took four for 59 to restrict the Medak score.
Adilabad, in reply, failed to match Medak and were bowled out for 120. Saif Bin Sohail made 42 and skipper Anas scored 27 but the rest disappointed. C Balaji Sai Ram, Sri Varshith Goud and Y Sai Tejas took two wickets apiece for Medak.

Vamshi stars for Khalsa; Ramesh and Koushik fashion Telangana win
N Vamshi Krishna bowled Khalsa to a massive 215-run win over Nalgonda in the B Division (2-day) League Championship on Wednesday.
Replying to Khalsa’s 305, Nalgonda batters failed to take up the challenge. They were bowled out for 90 in 37.3 overs with Vamshi Krishna taking five for 17.
Ramesh B and CV Sai Koushik took four wickets apiece to help Telangana score a 79-run win over PKMCC. Replying to Telangana’s 292, PKMCC could reach only 213 despite SM Hussain scoring 96. Ramesh took four for 66 and Sai Koushik had four for 71.
