Paras Raj, Vaishnav, Gaurav, Gnana, Varun, Harshwardhan and Rahul Buddhi shine

Paras Raj struck a century to spur Balaaji to a four-wicket win over Budding Star in the HCA’s A Division (one-day) league-cum-knock-out tournament in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Batting first, Budding Star made a competitive 322 for seven with Alankrit Agarwal (71), A Jai Ram Kashyap (59) and G Ritish Reddy (58) scoring half-centuries.

However, Balaaji chased down the target by reaching 327 for six in 43.2 overs and the architect of the win was Paras Raj who made 100 off 85 balls with 11 fours and two sixes. Pratheek Pawar supported him well with a 76.

S Vaishnav Reddy and P Gaurav Reddy hit centuries to help MP Colts score a nine-wicket win over Jai Hanuman.

Jai Hanuman made 247 for nine despite P Arvind getting 120 off 107 balls with 14 fours and two sixes. In reply, MP Colts made 253 for one in 36.2 overs as Gaurav scored 136 off 100 balls with 15 fours and six sixes, while Vaishnav was not out on 107 off 113 balls with five fours and three sixes.

Gnana Prakash Reddy hit an unbeaten century to help Combined District-1 score a four-wicket win over Central Excise.

Central Excise made 297 for nine with Varun Vinod scoring 113 off 117 balls with 12 fours and two sixes. In reply, District made 299 for six as Gnana Prakash scored 137 off 139 balls with 12 fours and six sixes.

T Harshwardhan Singh’s 102 went in vain as Combined District-2 lost to Evergreen by seven wickets.

Rahul Buddhi scored an unbeaten 99 to steer Cambridge XI to a nine-wicket win over Charminar.
