Nithin Nayak of Ranga Reddy completed a double by winning the 200 metres race and Vinod Banothu won the 800 metres race at the 12th Telangana State men, women and junior athletics championship, organized by Hyderabad District Athletics Association, at the Osmania University campus in Hyderabad on Friday.
Nithin, who had won the 100 metres race on Thursday, claimed the 200 metres race in a time of 22.78 seconds. He was followed by Nalgonda’s Santosh R and Khammam’s Vivek Chandra.
International athlete Vinod Banothu of Hanumakonda won the 800 metres race. He finished the race in 1:51.31 seconds. He was followed by Venkata Sai Ganda of Khammam and Kiran K of Nalgonda.
In the women’s section, N Pravalika of Nalgonda won the 200 metres race with a timing of 25.51 seconds. She was followed by Khammam’s A Maithili and Hyderabad’s Shreya.
The 800 metres race was claimed by Gayatri of Nalgonda, who finished it in 2:57.88 seconds. Saritha of Medchal and K Nagamani of Suryapet finished second and third respectively.
Resham Midhu of Hyderabad won the 20000 Walk at the 12th Telangana State men, women and junior athletics championship in Hyderabad on Friday. Raj Mishra of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Vishnu Vardhan of Karimnagar finished second and third respectively
