Andhra Pradesh’s Nelavalli Mukesh bagged two more medals on the last day of the Asian Shooting Championship in Delhi on Friday.
In the 25m sports pistol junior category, Mukesh won the silver medal along with Suraj Sharma of Madhya Pradesh and Abhinav Deswal of Uttarakhand in the team category. All the medals in the individual category went to India. Suraj Sharma won the gold medal while Abhinav Deswal won the bronze medal.
Kazakhstan’s Intikbey Ramazan, Smirnov Daniil and Karpov Konstantin won the silver.
In this Asian Shooting Championship junior category, Mukesh competed for nine medals in five events and won eight medals. This is a national record.
The 25m sports pistol category competition was held on the last day of the championship, which has been going on since February 2 at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.
