Mizoram, Karnataka stay unbeaten to top their pools, Andhra Pradesh go down to Assam 1-2

Hockey Mizoram (Pool A) and Hockey Karnataka (Pool B) won three out of three to remain unbeaten in Division B of the 16th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2026 at the Maj Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, Pune, on Saturday.

Likewise, Hockey Rajasthan (Pool A) and Hockey Jammu and Kashmir (Pool B) remained on top in the respective Division C.

Mizoram defeated Kerala 2-0 to maintain a clean slate in their pool 

In Division B, Group A, Assam Hockey pipped Hockey Andhra Pradesh 2-1. Assam Hockey profited from a brace, including the match-winner, by Chaurasiya Tanya (48’, 60’), while Hockey Andhra Pradesh had Rajeswari Vyadi Sai Dhana, 58’ reduced the margin. Later, Hockey Mizoram got past Kerala Hockey 2-0 with Loicy Laltanpuii (15’) and Zothanmawii (29’) scoring.

The results in Group A means Hockey Andhra Pradesh joined Assam Hockey in second spot (6 pts each), while Mizoram Hockey (9 pts) lead.

Karnataka thrashed Uttarakhand 6-1 with Manish Ponnamma CD scoring a hat-trick

In Division B, Group B, Hockey Karnataka got past Hockey Uttarakhand 6 -1 with Manish Ponnamma CD netting three (19’, 42’, 46’), while Pearlin Ponnamma AG (23’), Meher Kaur Mehta (24’), Vyshnavi Arul 25’) scored one each. Hockey Uttarakhand reduced the scoreline through Upadhayay Kashish (29’).

Hockey Mizoram strengthen pool top spot; Tamil Nadu climb to third in Division B

Group B now has Hockey Karnataka with (9 pts) to lead the standings followed by Hockey Uttarakhand (6 pts).

In Division C, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Hockey and Hockey Gujarat won their matches against Hockey Arunachal and Le Puducherry in Pool A and Pool B respectively.

Dadra and Nagar Haveli won 2-0 against Arunachal Pradesh

Dadra and Nagar Haveli (6 pts) took second position, behind Hockey Rajasthan (7 pts), scoring their second win. Meanwhile, Le Puducherry (6 pts), made up second place, behind Hockey Jammu and Kashmir (6 pts) who has a better goal average.

In the morning matches, Dadra and Nagar Haveli won 2-0 against Arunachal with Gupta Shreyanshi (45’) and Supriya Chauhan (48’) scoring. Likewise, Hockey Gujarat got past Le Puducherry Hockey 3-1 with Dhruviba Parmar (2’, 35’) forcing a brace of goals and Jadeja Bhavnaba (36’) completing the tally. Le Puducherry pulled one back through R Kareesshma Dass (27’)

Both Pool A and Pool B had a walk-over recorded. In Pool A Hockey Rajasthan, zoomed to the top spot, getting past Tripura Olympic Association. In Pool B, Hockey Jammu and Kashmir (6 pts), similarly topped the ladder, downed Telangana Hockey.

Division C, Pool B: Hockey Jammu and Kashmir: 5 w/o Telangana Hockey: 0.
