MIT World Peace University of Pune steals the show at BAJA SAEINDIA 2026 competitions

MIT World Peace University, Pune stole the honours in the four-day BAJA SAEINDIA 2026, mBAJA category competitions held at B V Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur in Hyderabad. The competitions concluded successfully on Sunday with thrilling final racing events.

MIT World Peace University took home a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh. The second prize was grabbed by KLE Technological University of Karnataka. They won Rs 1 lakh in cash prize. The third prize went to DY Patil College of Engineering and Technology of Kolhapur. They won Rs 75,000.

Event convener Ali Sayed and joint convener Dr Vemula Murali Krishna, professor of Mechanical Engineering, BVRIT, informed that around 1,500 students from 11 states across the country participated in the competition. A total of 51 buggies were registered, out of which 32 qualified for the final endurance race. Participation included 13 teams from Maharashtra, 9 from Tamil Nadu, 4 each from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana, 2 each from Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, and one team each from Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.

The event was graced by C S Mahender, additional superintendent of police, Medak District, as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he congratulated all participating teams and encouraged students to uphold sportsmanship and enthusiasm. He formally flagged off the final race by waving the green flag.

Representatives from Sri Vishnu Educational Society, including secretary Aditya Vissam and joint secretary Sai Sumanth, attended the program. They stated that hosting such large-scale national competitions in South India is a significant achievement and that conducting the event consecutively in 2024, 2025, and 2026 is a matter of pride for the institution. They conveyed their best wishes to all participating students.

During the valedictory ceremony, Dr Sanjay Dubey, principal of BVRIT, in his keynote address, mentioned that this is the third time the college has hosted national-level BAJA competitions. He highlighted that under the visionary leadership of chairman of Sri Vishnu Educational Society, K V Vishnu Raju, the institution continuously strives to promote core engineering education and enhance employment opportunities for students. The successful organization of this large-scale and prestigious competition reflects that vision.

The event was also attended by distinguished guests including Mahesh Babu, managing director of Olectra, Dr G Nagarajan, president of SAEINDIA, Shuhei Koyen, B2B sales and marketing advisor, HIPPI, and Shravan Kumar, territory manager–retail, Bharat Petroleum. They congratulated all the teams and appreciated the collective efforts behind the successful conduct of the event.

Balraj Subramanian, chairman, BAJA SAEINDIA organizing committee, and Dr KC Vora, advisor, BAJA SAEINDIA, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the immense support extended by all stakeholders and especially appreciated BVRIT for its outstanding organizational efforts.

Several dignitaries including Manoneeth Singh, advisor–Vishnu Motor Sports; static and dynamic event coordinators Dr K Rayudu, Dr Ch Madhubabu, Dr D V Raju; event organizer Dr Varun, head of Mechanical Engineering, BVRIT; principal Dr Sanjay Dubey; director Dr Lakshmi Prasad; organizing committee chairman Balraj Subramanian; advisor Dr K C Vora; college manager B Bapiraju and administrative officer T L N Suresh were present at the event.

The management and administration of B V Raju Institute of Technology played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and grand success of BAJA SAEINDIA 2026.

Vehicle Computer Aided Engineering – First Prize: Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women – Cash Prize ₹30,000

Dr Muthu Lagu from B V Raju Institute of Technology was selected as the recipient of the prestigious Dronacharya Award – BAJA SAEINDIA 2026.
