Mexican Bernal’s offence helps Jyothi Surekha as the Indian gets silver medal at WC final

Ace Indian compound archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam received a boost as her bronze medal was upgraded to a silver.

Jyothi had originally finished in third place at the 2025 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final held in Nanjing, China, on October 18 & 19, 2025.

However, the medal standings were revised after Mexico’s Marina Bernal was disqualified for violating anti-doping regulations. The doping sample, collected from Bernal on September 29, 2025, resulted in disqualification in accordance with World Archery Federation Rule 3, leading to an official revision of the final results.

Significant achievement for Surekha

This upgraded silver medal is another significant achievement for Jyothi Surekha Vennam and highlights her continued excellence in international compound archery, bringing pride and recognition to India.

Gold: Andrea Becerra (Mexico)

Silver: Jyothi Surekha Vennam (India)

Bronze: Ella Gibson (Great Britain)
