Konda Shreyansh Murali Krishna Patel, grandson of Telangana minister Konda Surekha and Muralidhar Rao, has achieved a rare and remarkable record in the sport of chess.

In an event organized under the aegis of the Rai Chess Academy, two-year-old Shreyansh Krishna Patel created history by setting two world records and thereby etching his name in the World Book of Records (London). He achieved this feat by solving 93 back-rank checkmates in just 15 minutes and 52 seconds, and by setting up 21 chess boards in 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 9 seconds. He has earned the distinction of being the youngest boy ever to achieve this record, accomplishing it at the tender age of 2 years and 11 months.

The event was held amidst distinguished guests at the MLAs and MPs Colony Cultural Center in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. Demonstrating his extraordinary skills within the stipulated time, Shreyansh Krishna Patel successfully achieved the record.

Telangana deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka, minister for sports Vakiti Srihari, and minister for forests, environment, and endowments Konda Surekha attended the event as chief guests. Bhatti Vikramarka personally encouraged Shreyansh Krishna Patel with words of appreciation and a pat on the back.

Speaking on the occasion, Vakiti Srihari extended his congratulations to Shreyansh for achieving a world record in chess. He remarked that Shreyansh Patel’s performance was truly unprecedented, a feat “never seen before and unlikely to be seen again” and declared it a matter of immense pride for the state of Telangana. He extended his best wishes to Shreyansh, who is set to receive an award at the British Parliament in June.

The ministers also announced that, under the leadership of chief minister Revanth Reddy, the government would stand firmly in support of sports.

Surekha remarked that Shreyansh Krishna’s remarkable patience in solving puzzles, along with his adeptness at arranging chessboards, had deeply moved everyone present. She was visibly emotional during this moment and shed tears of joy.

Shreyansh’s mother, Konda Susmitha Patel, expressed her delight, stating that her son’s spiritual depth and sporting prowess never cease to amaze her. Susmitha affirmed that they would continue to encourage his talents and capabilities in this direction, offering their utmost support to help Shreyansh achieve his goals.

Rajasekhar Reddy, founder and coach of the Rai Chess Academy, stated that Shreyansh’s achievements were not merely for the sake of setting records, but that his intellect serves as an inspiration for future generations. He noted that this event stands as proof that, with proper guidance, the immense potential latent in children can be successfully unlocked. He further announced that in the upcoming month of June, Shreyansh Krishna Patel is scheduled to receive both a certificate and an honor at the British Parliament, presented by the World Book of London.

On behalf of the Rai Chess Academy, Vakiti Srihari and Konda Surekha presented trophies and certificates to Konda Shreyansh Patel for achieving two world records, amidst resounding applause from the guests.
