Skipper Komal ’tricks in Jammu & Kashmir’s thumping 14-0 win over hapless Rajasthan

Captain Komal struck a hat-trick to power Hockey Jammu & Kashmir to a thumping 14-0 win over Hockey Rajasthan on the third day of the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2026 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Friday.

The day also saw Goans Hockey, Hockey Himachal and Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu win their respective matches.

It all began with a Pool B, Division ‘C’ match as Hockey Jammu & Kashmir defeated Hockey Rajasthan 14-0. Captain Komal led from the front with a hat-trick (26′, 35′, 60′), while Avni (6′, 9′), Mauki (20′, 25′), Sanjana (12′, 55′) and Akanksha (6′, 59′) scored braces each. Haiqa Banday (20′) also chipped in with a goal for Hockey Jammu & Kashmir.

In Division ‘C’, Pool A encounter, Goans Hockey enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Kerala Hockey. Bertila Kerketta (21′) and Bhumika Bhima Vaydande (55′) scored for Goans Hockey.

Later in the day, in a Division ‘B’, Pool B match, Hockey Himachal registered a commanding 11-0 win over Hockey Gujarat. Arushi (30′, 42′, 44′, 56′) scored four goals, while Sharma Shanvi (23′, 24′) and Kumari Archana (27′, 43′) added braces. Captain Riya (17′), Devi Suman (28′) and Kaur Ekampreet (34′) also got on the scoresheet for Hockey Himachal.

Lastly, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu defeated Delhi Hockey 2-0 in their Pool A, Division ‘B’ match. Captain Kanishka (17’) opened the scoring, whereas Swathi (34’) doubled the lead for her team securing a comfortable 2-0 win for Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu.
