Hockey Jharkhand set up a final date with Hockey Haryana in the 16th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2026 at the Maj. Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, Pune, on Sunday.
On Saturday, in the first semifinal, Hockey Jharkhand got the better of Hockey Madhya Pradesh via the shoot-out after sharing a goal (1-1) each at full-time. Hockey Madhya Pradesh Kajal (15’) were the first to score early, while Hockey Jharkhand survived the final minute before Horo Esther (60’) scored the equaliser.
In the shoot-out, Hockey Jharkhand had Salomi Nag, Rajani Kerketta find the goal, while Hockey Madhya Pradesh Hockey had Kajal score their lone goal.
Missing in the shoot-out were, Dungdung Switi, Mundri Saroj from Jharkhand, while Saniya Sayed, Sujata Jayant, Mitali Sharma and Kanak Pal missed their attempts for Hockey Madhya Pradesh.
Haryana thrash Chhattisgarh 8-0
In the second semifinal, Hockey Haryana had it easy against Chhattisgarh Hockey 8-0. A three-goal effort by Shashi Khasa (45’, 59’, 57’), a brace by Anjani (7’, 58’) and a goal each by Bhavya (9’), Diksha (11’) and Sukhpreet Kaur 35’) accounted for Hockey Haryana goals.
In the third-place play off on Sunday, Hockey Madhya Pradesh will play Chhattisgarh Hockey.
