India U-17s down Tajikistan in first closed-doors friendly in Fatorda, Goa

The India Under-17 men’s national team defeated Tajikistan Under-17s 4-2 in the first of two closed-door friendly matches at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda, Goa, on Thursday.

India took the early lead via a goal from Dallalmoun Gangte in the eighth minute, before Mekhrubon Odilzoda equalised in the 18th, as both sides went into the break tied at 1-1.

The Blue Colts began the second half in the same manner, as Deny Singh Wangkhem put them back in the lead three minutes after the restart. Tajikistan, however, roared back with Sadriddin Sattorov levelling the proceedings in the 66th minute.

India tore away from the visitors in the last quarter of an hour, as Azlaan Shah KH’s cross was turned into their own net by the Tajikistan defenders in the 75th minute, before Washington Singh Ngangom (90+1’) scored in injury time to secure the victory.

Result: India U-17 4 (Dallalmoun Gangte 8’, Denny Singh Wangkhem 48’, Tajikistan og 75’, Washington Singh Ngangom 90+1’) beat Tajikistan U-17 2 (Mekhrubon Odilzoda 18’, Sadriddin Sattorov 66’).
