Imran Khan and Vijay Naidu power Kakatiyans to seven-wicket victory over Pune Veterans

Imran Khan and Vijay Naidu struck handsome half-centuries to power Kakatiyans Veterans CC to a seven-wicket victory over Pune Veterans in the Sun 40+ Masters Premier League at the SR Cricket Ground in Aziz Nagar, Hyderabad, on Sunday.

Needing 171 for victory, Kakatiyans Veterans went on to score 174 while losing three wickets in the process. Imran Khan led from the front as he hit a stroke-filled 75 which came off 40 balls. Giving him support as Vijay Naidu who made a 31-ball 58 to help his side clinch the issue.

Earlier, Pune Veterans made 170 for five thanks to in-from batter Chetan. The Pune player made a 49-ball 65 and was supported by Aditya who contributed 30 which came off 22 balls.

Jatin stars in Hyderabad Legends win

Jatin helped Hyderabad Legends carve out a six-wicket victory over Columbia Masters.

Batting first, Columbia could manage a modest 151 for six in their 20 overs. M Suresh topscored with 43 off 36 balls and Prasad contributed a 21-ball 31 to the total but which proved insufficient to challenge Hyderabad Legends.

Hyderabad Legends needed just 14.4 overs to reach 155 and lost four wickets in the process. Jatin made a topscore of 47 off 26 balls, while Shashi scored a blistering 16-ball 32 and Ravi made a 28-ball 38 and Nadeem contributed a 21-ball 31 to the winning cause.

Md Kaleem hits Blues Veterans for mighty six

Md Kaleem took six for eight to bowl Nanded Veterans to a 73-run win over Blues Veterans

A six-wicket haul by Md Kaleem helped Nanded Veterans clinch a handsome 73-run win over Blues Veterans Cricket Club.

Batting first, Nanded Veterans ran up 210 for seven, the highest on the holiday. Sadiq was at his strokeful best as he scored 72 off 32 balls. Zabi made 35 from 25 balls. Amidst all the mayhem by the batters, Sumit stood tall and took four for 24 to restrict the Nanded Veterans total.

However, his batters failed to show the same spirit, and Blues Veterans were restricted to 137 for eight. The wrecker-in-chief was Md Kaleem who finished with splendid figures of 3.4-0-8-6. A memorable six-wicket haul indeed for the bowler in a T20 game. Kiran topscored with a 35-ball 55 and Sandy made 36 off 23 balls but their efforts paled in comparison to Kaleem’s tricks with the cherry.

Sanjay hit a half-century to help Prestine Veterans down Hyderabad Royals by six wickets.

Batting first, Hyderabad Royals made a competitive 173 for six in 20 overs. Kamesh topscored with a 43-ball 69 and Pavan made 34 off 31 balls.

In reply, Sanjay and Giridhar put their team on the path to victory. Sanjay struck a 29-ball 50 and Giridhar made 49 off 34 balls as Prestine Veterans scored 176 for four in 17.2 overs.

Kiran Patil took three for 24 but his efforts were not sufficient to help Hyderabad Royals.

Prestine vs Nanded in Platinum Cup final; Hyd Legends vs Kakatiyans in Gold Cup final

After three days of thrilling cricket, the men have been separated from the boys. In the Platinum Cup final, Prestine Cricket Club will lock horns with Nanded Veterans, and in the Gold Cup final, Hyderabad Legends will clash with Kakatiyans Cricket Club on Monday.
