Hyderabad take 3 points from drawn encounter against Himachal Pradesh

Hyderabad managed to eke out a draw against Himachal Pradesh in their U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy at Mulapadu near Vijayawada on Wednesday. In the process, Hyderabad, by virtue of their 12-run first innings lead, took three points from the game and Himachal had to be content with one.

On the final day of play, Aryan Mehta hogged the limelight with a splendid century. He made 137 off 156 balls with 14 fours and two sixes as Himachal declared their innings closed at 257 for nine.

Hyderabad were reduced to 23 for three as the Himachal bowlers pressed on for an unlikely victory. However, skipper Aditya Vardhan and Prince added 106 to deny their rivals any room. Aditya made 82 and Prince scored 34.

Brief scores: Himachal Pradesh 200 in 71 overs & 257/9 dec in 59 overs (Sameer L 36, Aryan Mehta 137; Ayush Malhotra 3/80, Ved Reddy 3/21) drew with Hyderabad 212 in 90.3 overs & 150/6 in 49 overs (Aditya Vardhan 82, Prince 34, Hardik Sharma 4/58).

Pallavi Model School down Gowtham to enter semis

Rudra Rao struck an unbeaten half-century to help Pallavi Model School (Alwal) register a thumping eight-wicket win over Gowtham Model School (Ameerpet) in the quarterfinals of the HCA’s U-14 Boys Inter-school and Districts tournament.

Batting first, Gowtham were restricted to 176 for seven and Pallavi replied with 177 for two as Rudra made 87 and Mahaprasada scored 52.

Brief scores: Gowtham Model School (Ameerpet) 176/7 in 46 overs (CV Chetan Aditya 36, D Laxman Roy 55no, Raju 3/34) lost to Pallavi Model School (Alwal) 177/2 in 30.4 overs (Rudra Rao 87no, Mahaprasada 52no).

David hammers ton; Nalgonda eke out narrow win over RR

David Kripal hammered an unbeaten century to power Mahbubnagar to a thumping 10-wicket victory over Hyderabad in the Kaka Venkataswamy Memorial Telangana Inter-District T20 tournament.

Hyderabad, batting first, were restricted to 154 for eight despite an unbeaten 83 by Vasu Dev Sahoo. In reply, it was David all the way as he slew the Hyderabad bowlers on way to a 60-ball 103 which was studded with 11 fours and six sixes. Abdul Rafeay made an unbeaten 53.

In another match, Nizamabad scored a seven-wicket victory over Khammam thanks to Harshavardhan’s unbeaten 64.

Elsewhere, Adilabad carved out a comfortable six-wicket win over Warangal and Nalgonda eked out a narrow three-run win over Ranga Reddy in a nail-biting finish.
